The Front page manager works just like most part's of Joomla's UI.
With a Grid Data set page with rows and columns.
The columns are sortable by clicking on them or using the filter.

Remember these are the pages your going to see on your home page.
Now the Home page link in Joomla is a Blog layout so you can have leading articles and columns just like any Blog style layout.

A good question is how are article links added to the front page?
Via the article manager which I'm going to cover next.
If you click on a Front page manager article title link it will take you to the Article manager editor.
